Out and about…

During a recent visit to a local A.C. Moore Crafts store,
I saw some chairs “just my size”.

I decided to rest a bit while Marilyn did some shopping.

Hmmm, I wonder what she’s planning to make.

Glencairn Museum

Today, I spent most of my day at Glencairn Museum and Bryn Athyn Cathedral.

I saw many examples of Medieval stain glass.
{100 year old reproductions & 15th century}

I had an amazing time!

If you’re in the area, you should take a tour through these spectacular historical buildings.

Ice skating

Ice skating

Today, I went with Marilyn and the kids to the ice skating rink.

The kids enjoyed themselves with friends.  …lots of red noses, frozen toes and fingers.

My pegs were a bit stiff, but I was determined to glide on the shiny ice.

Well, a wooden doll such as myself must be extremely careful when ice skating with human children.

I have a few bumps and bruises from the experience, but I look forward to having another go at it.

I hope next time one of my sisters will want to join in on the fun.

The ice rink the kids go to has Homeschool Days every Friday (10am – 12pm), $5 including skate rental.

At the quilt shop

Today, I ran a few errands with Marilyn and the children.

To my delight, we stopped at our local quilt shop, The Round Bobbin.

This quilt shop is filled with the yummiest 1800’s & 1930’s reproduction fabrics (perfect for dresses)

and so much more.

The staff is always friendly and willing to help.

If you are in the area, please stop by.

A visit to Philadelphia

It’s wonderful to travel to different parts of the country we live in and even going abroad to discover history, but we should take notice of historical sites local to our area(s).  I don’t live far from Center City Philadelphia (PA).  The Westview Family decided to visit several local sites.  We went to the Constitution Center, walked to the visitors center, saw the Liberty Bell.  We even passed by China Town and ate at the Reading Terminal Market.

Go out and enjoy the history in your area!
